The SESAM Board provides strategic leadership and oversees all aspects of the Society’s planning, governance, budget, and operational delivery, in line with our bylaws (Article 5.6). The Board meets monthly, with decisions recorded and approved by majority vote to ensure transparency and accountability.
As outlined in our bylaws (Article 4.2), the elected Board is composed of up to seven members who hold the legal responsibility for guiding the Society and safeguarding its mission.

Our Executive Director provides operational leadership and ensures seamless administrative coordination to support SESAM’s strategic priorities and day to day activities. This role helps maintain continuity, strengthens organisational effectiveness, and enables the Society to deliver on its mission.

What We Are Looking For
Committee Leads who are:
- Current SESAM members in good standing
- Committed and collaborative
- Experienced in their respective domains
- Ready to shape SESAM’s strategic direction
- Motivated to support and strengthen our community
- Able to dedicate regular voluntary time to the role — approximately 8 to 14 hours per month depending on the position, with periodic increases around the Annual Meeting
Our Process
To ensure strong, active, and well-supported Committees, SESAM will interview shortlisted candidates. These conversations will help us understand each candidate’s motivation, experience, and vision for contributing to SESAM’s next chapter.
